Social Activities

On 3rd June 2008, RLDB delegations were invited to attend a seminar under the topic of “Ethnic Conflict in Burma and Rohingya Issue” by a NGO known as Neeti Gobeshona Kendro in Dhaka.

The mission was included some other delegations that came from different countries but led by Vice-Chair (2) Mr. Ibrahim because he keeps long relationship with that NGO in many occasion. Some of the Photo documents are as shown in below:

A few days later, after Vice-Chairman (2) Mr. Ibrahim has returned back to his place, he swiftly approached to the Government authority, the camp in charge to pay a visit to the refugee camp on earning some documents about the situation inside camps as he was instructed by CEC of RLDB because hearing many miserable information about refugees on those days.

According to the information, some of the refugees were injured in a riot with security forces while refugees demonstrated against the leave of one medical team from them. To get the correct information Vice-Chair (2) pay a visit to the camps with some guests along with his video camera. He met young and old refugees, kids, religious leaders; men and women then asked them several    questions about their life in camps, of their necessities, the reason of occurring the riot and about the causalities to make a record with his camera.

Asking to women and recording their responsesThe person with sun-glass beside him is new in chargeAlthough Mr. Ibrahim is well-known on doing such work with many foreign reporters and Medias for longtime. Many times he was warned by the authority not to involve with such matters. He therefoere  kept away himself from this job for a time more than a year on his security reason.

This time the camp in charge was new and kind hearted. The camp in charge was with him at this time but warned him not to give any of the documents that he earned from refugees nor having any interview with foreign base medias.

Gutter of dirty water between rows of hurts The old woman counting her days in life like hell

While Mr. Ibrahim appeared after a year the refugee willing to carry him their messages to the world but they said we want to tell and we have to tell many things but our mouths are closed by forced. Let the world know about our life here and tell not to forget us”.

Children need begging but abuse them by local peopleMSF is only hope for their health and life, they don’t like them to go away from thereThe refugees told that they refuge into Bangladesh to survive the life and to escape the persecutions of Burmese brutal forces but life here is more difficult like hell. They did not think the world will ignore them like now and their issue in Burma will be solved by international community through every means but it was only a dream, they should not have such anticipation.

The camp is at the Beach of Naf River and during the rainy season, tidal water flows into their miserable huts with many diseases. Flooding and cyclone make them shelter-less to have snap or to take a rest. Hundreds of children are died because of those heartless storms and floods. No animal can live in this situation but Rohingyas are living on such a place for nearly two decades. Why do they are not allowed living peacefully on this earth? Does anyone give the answer? Do not they have the right to live in this world by claiming it is our portion?
(Ibrahim)

“Burma and here in Bangladesh, there was killing and here is also, there was seized land and properties, here is also, there was rape here is the same, there was restrictions and here is no difference, there kept in detention by creating fault cases and here even doing the same; there refused us by telling Bengali but here is saying as Burmese, we are in trouble in both place, nowhere like us  to live…why? We do like to ask the world why? Do human being is our guilty?” (A Refugee)

The child in muddy ground but he care only for foodAre the children happy for playing in mud??

According to refugees they are not allowed to work outside the camps and robbery upon their rations again  is a daily life facing  at them. If they have nothing to eat, they drink the muddy water but for their kids, while they cry on hungriness the most difficult time passes at them.

“Mr. Ibrahim ..my message to the world is as if they are thinking that we are not deserve to live on earth then come to kill us at once but don’t give us more troubles in future. Say them please do not celebrate Eid (or) Christmas on our situation.” (A Religious leader in Camp)

According to Vice-Chairman (2), when he saw and heard the situation directly from refugees as how difficult life a day in Camp, he was unable to control the dropping tears from his eyes.

After some days he was invited to a meeting held by a monthly scholarship Rohingya student’s group at Cox’s Bazar region. In the meeting he narrated all the realities what he found out at the camp.

Mr. Ibrahim was honored as a patron of the meeting   Mr. Ibrahim delivering a speech at the meeting

Mr. Ibrahim knew very well that he was being watched by the intelligent department after his trip to camp but he said he did not make a control for himself due to the situation what he saw at the camp. Since then he became a  wanted at security forces and they looking for him in everywhere. Persons with civil dress came to his home and asking whereabouts him. Those people were threatening to his family members mornings and evenings days after days.

When the situation became unavoidable, the CEC members of RLDB are informed to have an assist for his escape.
